Qualifications

We offer a range of qualifications, both professional and pre-professional.

We always ensure that sufficient time is allowed for students to discover fully, to digest and to integrate the work. Students may present themselves for examination when they are ready and at the discretion of the tutor.

Pre-Certificate
All the Level Exams may be taken in the three areas of Eurhythmics - Rhythmics, Improvisation and Solfa/Solfège.
Levels 1 and 2 exams are currently run as part of the Saturday courses for children at Trinity College of Music and the Guildhall School of Music.

Levels 3 & 4
Levels 3 & 4 are for older children and have, in the past, been taken by students at The Purcell School. 

Certificate
The Certificate of the Dalcroze Society (UK) qualifies those who already have a professional status in some other area e.g. Music, Dance, Drama, Therapy and Education. It authorizes the holder to use the work in connection with that profession and to teach Eurhythmics to beginners. The examination requirements cater for the needs and skills of individual candidates according to their field of interest.

It is a comprehensive examination that combines training in the areas of rhythmics, improvisation, solfa (or solfège), pedagogy and Dalcroze Principles.

Licence
The Licence of the Dalcroze Society (UK) authorizes the holder to teach Dalcroze Eurhythmics - Rhythmics, Improvisation and Solfa - to all students at all levels.

The examination requirements cater for the needs and skills of individual candidates according to their field of interest.

Diploma
The Diploma qualifies the holder to train and examine advanced students in all aspects of Eurhythmics and can only be obtained from the Institut Jaques-Dalcroze in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Dalcroze Society is a member of the International Federation of Rhythmics Teachers (F.I.E.R.) and the Certificate and License qualifications are recognized by the Institut Jaques-Dalcroze, Geneva.
