Training
Dalcroze training develops musicianship through movement. It is an interactive and life-changing process. The training engages the student in the most fundamental response to music, which is to say through the body. It is a wholly practical and comprehensive approach to musical literacy, creativity and performance.
The Certificate course is essential for anyone wishing to use Dalcroze in the workplace (performers, teachers, therapists, etc).
There are currently two UK centres of training:
South of England
A course of Intensive Weekends over two years
Venue: Royal Russell School in Croydon, just south of London.

North of England
Weekly sessions throughout college terms (each term focuses on a different aspect of the training).
Venue: Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester.

The annual Dalcroze Easter Course and Summer School both provide further training for beginner, Certificate and post-Certificate levels.

Taken from a letter from Jean Vincent award-winner Rebecca Spencer 2007
”There is no doubt that discovering Dalcroze has turned my love for music and my aspirations in life around! This autumn I have embarked upon part-time teaching work - and to my joy and great privilege I am teaching on the Wider Opportunities programme where my boss and director are thoroughly supportive of Dalcroze becoming an integral part of my work. I would like to send my sincere thanks to the society for offering all the support they can to Dalcroze students and those new to the profession.”
